LMPD National Night Out

Published on 7 August 2024 at 13:14

Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) National Night out is hosted annually.  It is hosted across the City, hosted by multiple LMPD Divisions, to promote police-community partnership and camaraderie in the neighborhoods.  We attended the National Night Out hosted by the 6th and 7th Divisions, which was at the 7th Division off the Outer Loop in Louisville, KY.  This is a family friendly event with free food, raffles, LMPD specialty units, Fire, EMS, Community businesses and more all in support of the cause, making our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

It was wonderful to see so many supportive organizations for LMPD and the Community.  Food was provided by Shack in the Back BBQ and the VIPS (Volunteers in Police Services).  there were many LMPD specialty units in attendance:  Both the 6th and 7th Divisions, Metro Safe, River Patrol, Air Unit, Horse Patrol, K-9, Diversity and Equality, Special Victims Unit and many more.

There were also other Community Organizations and businesses in attendance:

  • Fern Creek Fire Department & EMS
  • Okolona Fire Department & EMS
  • Metro United Way
  • Many local Banks and Credit Unions
  • Target
  • Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
  • Mary Kay
  • Day Care's
  • Girl Scouts of America
  • Grey for Trey - Fighting ATRT Brain Cancer
  • Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
  • Many more...

It was a pleasure being in the Community meeting so many people.  I look forward to meeting more in/around District 24.

We will be starting walking door-to-door this week!
